Blue moon in the dark
Last night at TT's:
"We're His Name Is Alive. We're from Detroit. Have you guys been to Detroit?"
[Affirmative crowd noise]
"You haven't been to Detroit. You're chicken of Detroit."
[Aren't you guys from Livonia?]
"You're chicken of Livonia!"
"Everyone's afraid of Livonia."
"Keep those tambourines going! Don't put that back! If you don't like that tambourine, take a different one. If that one's too hard for you, we have easier tambourines."
"This song is about the Manson family creepy crawling into your house and murdering your whole family—everyone except you. You're playing dead so they don't kill you all the way. Except it's a metaphor. It's about going on a date—shut up, I'm talking! You're on a date with yoru girlfriend and she's watching you check out all the other girls."
"Do you want to hear an old song or a new song?"
[Chorus of olds, a couple dissenting news]
"I think they want the middle period."
And they launched into the noisiest version of "Blue Moon" by Big Star. The words were somewhat mangled but I can die happy regardless.

Blue Moon was definitely a highlight!
Otherwise, they were not quite as magical as the show at Somerville Theatre with Low a few months back. Alas, such is life. I was blown away by Nomo who I knew nothing about. They were great fun.
I might have been standing right behind you. Did you have a shirt with a zipper in back?
p.s. great photos!

What lovely photos! Thank you for posting them!
Warn's offhand comments were (as always)a highlight of the show.

I did, in fact, wear a shirt with a zipper up the back. It was orange and white and obnoxiously vintage polyester.
